The One Group are pleased to be working with a leading precision engineering company in Cambridgeshire who have created a brand-new position for a Senior Production Planner to join there team on a permanent basis.
This is an exciting time to be joining the business, with plenty of orders coming through the door and growing at a fast rate. With this being a brand-new role within the company you will have the opportunity to make it your own and develop a planning functionto suit the business needs.
My client manufacture precision engineered components for the Medical Technology, Scientific and Aerospace sectors to name a few and have increased production facilities from 2 to 5 over the past 12 months.
The duties include:

- Develop a key understanding of the MRP system and the opportunities it can afford with reference to planning
- Head up the complete planning implementation process ensuring a detailed road map is created and that milestones are achieved on time
- Create a short
- and medium-term plan for each factory by machine
- Ensure standards times are correct and there is a controlled system in how to make changes
- Reduce investigations which may occur on the shop floor and make recommendations for improvements
- With the help of manufacturing and planning develop shop floor data collection techniques including possible use of automatic job costing and bar coding

This role would suit an accomplished Production Planner who is experienced in the use of MRP systems, planning ideally from a CNC machining or manufacturing focused background.
