**About the Role**:
Vida Healthcare are looking for a healthcare assistant to help in our theatre capacity within cataracts and minor surgery on a part time basis, for 15 hours per week to cover Wednesday and Thursdays.

You will be responsible for providing a high-quality service to patients. You can expect to be mentored and supported by the organisation, whilst you are empowered to deliver care and support.

Duties will include:

- Work alongside the optometrist to deliver pre op care
- taking routine BP, pulse
- preforming and recording urinalysis
- To set up equipment and ensure it is in good working order.
- To aid clinicians and theatre staff.
- To collect patients from reception
- carry out pre-op checks.
- assist with putting in eye drops
- Working inside the theatre, you will learn to collect patients and circulate for cases.
- Assist with YAG list.
- Use Systmone computer system.
- Ensuring confidentiality is always maintained

If you are a qualified and experienced healthcare assistant looking for a fresh and exciting challenge, we would love to hear from you. You will have the following skills and qualifications:

- Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or equivalent.
- Confidence and competence in all HCA duties required for the post;
- Previous experience or knowledge in a theatre or cataract setting would be advantageous
- Ideally a qualification in phlebotomy/venepuncture;
- Strong clinical skills;
- Experience within primary care or another healthcare setting;
- Excellent patient-facing communication and interpersonal skills;
- Consistently confidential manner, as well as a compassionate and respectful approach, placing a high value on the dignity of patients, relatives, carers and colleagues;
- Ability to work independently and determine own workload priorities, as well as working as part of a multi-disciplinary team; Strong organisational and time management skills.**About Us**:
