We have an opportunity for 3 Operations Technicians to join our technical team who focus on the operational running and maintenance of the Energy Recovery Facility on the Isle of Wight. At this plant we turn household waste into energy. We will provide full training on the running of an energy from waste facility, but we are looking for individuals with relevant experience working with rotating machinery and monitoring techniques, process control and/or power generation.
We are a 24/7 operation and therefore operate a shift pattern of 4 days on and 4 days off which includes both days and nights.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Operation of the Isle of Wight contract Energy from Waste Plant
- Responsible for utilising ‘on shift’ maintenance skills to carry out routine maintenance and repairs to emergent defects
- Providing supervision and support to include first line fault finding, technical advice and back up, particularly in dynamic conditions such as breakdowns
- The ability to work shift patterns with changes at short notice
- Behaviour of rotating machinery and monitoring techniques
- Basic chemical processes associated with modern plant such as water treatment and emission control
- Responsible for utilising ‘on shift’ maintenance skills to carry out routine maintenance and repairs to emergent defects
- Providing supervision of Technicians to include first line fault finding, technical advice and back up, particularly in dynamic conditions such as breakdowns
- Co-ordinating safety with regard to work activities, releasing plant for maintenance and carrying out isolation
- Undertaking the role of emergency controller, responsible for managing all site emergencies safely and in line with local procedures
- Shift logging, ensuring quality defect reporting, fault reporting writing and review of operational work specifications
- Project work as delegated
- Producing detailed plant incident reports for any health, safety and environmental incidents
- Provide additional support during shutdowns and breakdowns
- Undertake all duties in a reliable, skilled, flexible constructive manner
- Assisting the team as required
**The Person**
- Experience in a supervisory role, ideally within the Energy from Waste sector, alternatively, Power Generation
- Experience in a Process Control role
- Knowledge and understanding of electrical control and distribution systems
- Excellent Planning and Organisational skills, able to effectively prioritise and multi-task

- Ability to communicate with team and management
- High level of problem-solving skills
**Job Types**: Full-time, Temporary contract, Temp to perm
Contract length: 6 months
**Salary**: £150.00 per day
Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
