**Oxford Crematorium opened in May 1939 and is set in 22 acres of well-maintained grounds on the outskirts of the city. We are here to help you with whatever you would like for the funeral service. Our dedicated and caring staff treat every family with dignity and respect.**

Oxford crematorium and cemetery are looking for a professional and compassionate individual to join our collaborative and dedicated team as a Grounds person. In addition, please be advised that you will be trained in chapel duties and cremator technician duties to support the business needs.

What Will I Be Doing as a Grounds person?

As a Grounds person, you main responsibility is to carry out a full range of gardening & horticultural tasks, including building new gardens and maintaining a high-quality environment.

Other duties will include:

- Take care of the grounds, keeping them maintained and presentable in accordance with recognised horticultural and grounds maintenance practices.
- To construct, place, fix memorials and subsequently maintain to the highest standard.
- Clear the grounds, paths and roadways of litter.
- Maintain all grounds equipment to the highest standards according to Health and Safety legislation and Company regulations
- To assist in chapel duties as and when required. **(Full training will be provided).**:

- To support in Cremator technician duties** **as and when required. **(Full training will be provided).**:

- To carry out any other duties when reasonably requested to do so by your Line Manager.
- Fully comply with Quality Standards Manual and Dignity’s Internal Procedures.

What Do I Need?
- Previous horticultural experience is an advantage.
- The key is a willingness to learn, develop your skills and undertake training courses.
- Experience in operating mechanical gardening equipment is advantageous, although training can be provided for this
- Is comfortable with cremation duties/responsibilities.
- Excellent attention to detail is essential.
- Good communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a team or carrying out tasks by yourself
- Having your own transport would be useful due to poor public transport links to the crematorium.

**Advantageous**:

- Previous experience in the industry, though this is not required, as full training will be provided.
