Payroll Manager - 12 Months Maternity Cover - Full Time - Hybrid Working
Job Role:
To process the company payroll (in-house) ensuring that all data is accurate and input in a timely manner. Circa 1200 employees.
Main Responsibilities:

- Compile payroll data and input all data changes into the payroll system in a timely manner, using IRIS Cascade HR and Payroll
- Process overtime, call out payments, sickness, pensions, invoices, bonus, starters, leavers and deductions
- Manage the on-boarding of employees via TUPE and transfer out of employees via the same process
- Ensure compliance with HMRC legislation in terms of all payroll obligations including RTI, Payment, Statutory Sick Pay (SSP), Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP) and Statutory Parental Pay (SPP)
- Manage the Payrolling of Benefits process and communication with the employees receiving these benefits
- Reconcile and process all external payments to pensions and benefit suppliers
- Manage payroll inbox - dealing with queries in a timely manner
- Provide advice to staff and managers in relation to pay, taxation and National Insurance
- Provide Ad hoc reporting to Directors and Senior Management Team
- Maintain the IRIS system - creating/updating templates, workflows, processes and screens where necessary
- Collaborate with Human Resources and finance Teams
- Training and management of one direct report
Knowledge
- Understand and complete manual payroll calculations.
- Payroll regulations including ITEPTA, Pension regulations, WTR, and AWR.
- Data Protection.
- National Living and Minimum Wage.
- Knowledge of and calculations of statutory payments.
- Understand and administer employee benefits.
- Understanding of varying pension schemes including salary sacrifice schemes.

**Required Skills**:

- Experience in IRIS HR Cascade is essential.
- Ability to run manual payroll calculations to include tax, NIC, student loans, and pension deductions.
- Ability to process payroll from end to end including year-end procedures.
- Ability to use excel including use of formulas including v look-ups and pivot tables.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Ideally, hold a relevant payroll qualification.
