**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
FORWARD TEACHING are seeking a SENDCo for our client based in Swanscombe.

They are seeking an experienced special educational needs coordinator to join their team to help support their students and staff.

REQUIRMENTS:

- Clear Enhanced DBS
- Passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs
- A calm and patient approach to working with children
- Excellent parent liaison skills
- Has an excellent understanding of different approaches towards children’s learning to fit individual needs
- Strong understanding, empathy, patience and sensitivity

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Be responsible for day-to-day operation of the SEN policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEN or a disability
- Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies
- Work with early year providers, other schools, educational psychologists, health and social care professionals and other external agencies
- Analyse assessment date for pupils with SEN or a disability and fill out forms when needed
- Review the education, health and care plan with parents or carers and the pupil
- Ensure records are maintained and kept up to date
- Be required to safeguard and promote the welfare of children
- Identify training needs for staff

SALARY:

- £45,000-£60,000

SCHEDULE:

- Monday-Friday

EXPERIENCE:

- At least 1 year as a SENCO
- At least 1 year working with SEND children

LICENCE/CERTIFICATION:

- National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordinator
- Masters Degree
