Club Steward

Full Job Description

We are a social members club located in the rural town of Wincanton, Somerset. We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and welcoming person as our Full-time club steward. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of our club in conjunction with the club secretary and committee. This full-time position requires a person with excellent organisational and personal skills, who will engage with the club committee to assist with the club's future growth and development and its standing in the local community.

Essential requirements
- Flexible approach to working hours
- Completed DBS check. Or willingness to have one completed.
- Competent with electronic tills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Acceptable levels of computer literacy
- Responsible for all aspects of cellar management (line cleaning, stock management, ordering, deliveries etc.)
- Maintain cleanliness of club
- Ensure accurate bar accountancy procedures are practiced
- Cashing up, float management and banking
- Open/close premises and maintain security
- Assess and continually monitor Health & Safety
- Management of staff rotas, including sickness and holiday cover

Desirable but not essential
- Personal Licence holder, or willingness to obtain one after trial period

This is a full-time position; hours of work are negotiable with the club committee provided they meet the minimum specified in the contract.

- Basic salary approx £22k ( £13 per hour based on a 40 hour week)

- Wincanton, BA9 9AP: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
