Vision for Education are seeking to appoint a resilient and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant, to work within a specialised provision in the Ponteland area.

**About the role**:
The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will be working directly with students aged 11-17, who all have a diagnosis of Social, and Emotional Mental Health difficulties, and who will be classed as vulnerable. As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the classroom teacher in the daily running of the classroom, and for making sure students are supported both academically and emotionally. A SEMH Teaching Assistant may have to deal with challenging and unpredictable behaviours.

**About the school**:
This SEND school is based in Ponteland and is easily accessible via public transport. They support diverse group of pupils with a range of complex learning needs, social and emotional difficulties and challenging behaviours.

There is also ample car parking. We are continually seeking quality caring staff members, who with additional experience and training may eventually become full time or even supply support staff members.

**Requirements**:
To be considered for the role of SEMH Teaching Assistant you will:

- Experience in working in a Secondary School
- Experience working with Mental Health or SEND
- Have a calm and compassionate nature
- Have good behaviour management
- hold and Enhanced DBS check or be willing to undergo one

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
