**Your role at a glance**

As a communication Principal Consultant you’ll operate at a senior client level where strategic discussions take place.

Strong people management skills are also essential to ensure future personal development of the team.

You’ll be regarded by the client as an expert and trusted advisor. You’ll advise our clients across strategic, conceptual and executional projects, across our entire communication proposition, ensuring the highest quality of communication solutions are developed and delivered for their portfolio of clients.

You’ll lead a team and be responsible delivering a significant portion of client revenue. In addition, they will be a trusted and senior member of the Client Services Team.

**Key Accountabilities/Deliverables**:

- Actively work with Senior Consultants to drive client activity, initiating strategic and tactical solutions that are commercially creative for both clients and Gallagher.
- Supporting communication ROI - measurement, learnings, analytics and insights.
- Senior consultative support and direction for Senior Consultants and Account Managers.
- Develop the team’s strategic ability and industry knowledge, having a clear talent and training plan that allows individuals to develop professionally and the department to deliver its objectives.
- Coach and mentor other consultants across the business.
- Own the senior client relationship, becoming a trusted partner and their ‘go to’ communication expert. Build strong relationships with clients that enable effective, proactive consulting with clients in relation to their communication challenges and in line with any wider communication or business strategy.
- Contribute towards effective internal relationships with other members of all teams across the business (including, Web, Creative, Motion Graphics and Operations).
- Accountability for the financial performance of their portfolio and team.
- Ensure the profitable growth of the business by identifying and proactively developing opportunities to secure additional revenue from existing clients and new client relationships. (E.g. white space and cross-selling initiatives, referrals, professional connections and leveraging Gallagher’s Better Works proposition.)

**Technical Knowledge**
- Industry awareness, knowledge and technical understanding.

**Experience**
- Consultancy or agency background.
- Team management / people management experience
- Demonstrable track record of working directly with senior stakeholders, including Board level executives and having sole responsibility for managing complex client accounts.

**Skills**
- Excellent organisational, coordination, project and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computing skills.
- Excellent knowledge of communication best practice, with specific understanding of the role of internal communication and employee engagement in business.
- Excellent presentation, influencing and networking skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, solve problems and develop workable solutions.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all areas of work.
- Tenacious and driven, inspiring others with your positivity and restless desire to succeed.
- A strategic thinker, able to consult at the most senior level and reflect the commercial language of our client’s businesses.
