The Company:
James Fisher Decommissioning is a trusted global service provider for the decommissioning of offshore assets, specialising in the removal of subsea infrastructure, structure and jacket removal, well severance and subsea well abandonment.
We deliver full decommissioning support for offshore projects by combining knowledge, innovation and experience with engineering solutions and equipment provision.

The Role:
To work inside the decommissioning technical department as part of a small team and reporting directly to the Engineering Director, it will also include support for the wider operations team both onshore and offshore.

The Well Abandonment Specialist is to work inside the James Fisher Decommissioning technical department, offshore and workshop, assisting R&D, equipment build, projects design and offshore operations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

- Supervise small teams offshore on key projects.
- Support and train the wider operational team onshore and offshore.
- Responsible for upkeep and quality control of a small fleet of equipment.

The role will be predominantly UK office/workshop based, but supporting global operations, particularly Malaysia and Australia.

To act as main client focal point and third party interface offshore for key projects/technologies:

- Ensure excellent service delivery in all business lines.
- Ensure all scopes are delivered safely and in accordance with Company’s Integrated Management System.

In addition:

- Learn about and train in the James Fisher Decommissioning equipment fleet..
- Manage, build and maintain the equipment in our workshop.
- Assist in developing best practice and lessons learnt.
- Train local and global team to run and maintain subsea abandonment equipment such as SEABASS (Subsea Well Abandonment System) and supporting equipment.
- Conduct equipment build and trials for new equipment.

The role provides a key interface between workshop, offshore and office and provides technical expertise for abandonment equipment.
- Work closely with the technical team to advise on design and operating procedures for new equipment (R&D).
- The role has a flexible working schedule and is ideally suited to someone with offshore experience who wants more balance towards working onshore, although this can also be negotiable.
- Develop and deliver an integrated client approach to service delivery.
- Attend and support premobilisation briefs and risk assessments.
- Ensure client FAT's, documentation and certification is to satisfactory standards.

Skills & Experience:

- Demonstrable offshore experience, ideally around well abandonment/intervention.
- Offshore Supervisory experience.
- Experience within a workshop environment.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines as part of a team.
- BOSIET.
- Comfortable in vessel based environment.
- Experience in straddle-based abandonment systems would be advantageous.
- UK driving license.
