**Charity Bid Writer**
Families in East London are facing increasing pressures and all too often, traditional public services have trouble reaching families who really need support. It is because of that, this well-established charity is focused on maximizing their resources to providesmarter and more effective services to the community. Their programmes are focused around supporting families, parents and carers, education, mental and physical health.
As a Bid Writer, you will form part of a small in-house business development team, leading on the development of new funding and business proposals and developing strategic partnerships to support the growth and sustainability of the charity’s activities.
You will work alongside the Head of Business Development and Chief Executive to represent the charity and its interests in the development of new business partnerships and relationships. This includes acting as a lead/senior point of contact for the BusinessDevelopment team, managing external relationships and correspondence.
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Managing relationships with funding partners, delivery partners, stakeholders and external consultants to ensure business interests and objectives are achieved and that we continue to build on our strong reputation for approachability, positivity, and beingpractically minded
- Working with the Junior/Bid Writer to identify, research and vet business development opportunities in order to present to the SMT
- Producing high quality, competitive funding proposals and tender submissions (typical values range from approximately £50,000 to £1 million)
- Leading the bid production process, liaising with partners and writing bids whilst ensuring timely input from relevant operational and technical managers to support high-quality on time bid submissions.
- Identifying and managing risk during the tender process to support successful project implementations and handover to operational leads.
- Working with operational managers, SMT and external partners/stakeholders where relevant to implement contracts and new project agreements effectively. As well as to identify priority areas for growth, programme innovations and development, and developingfundraising strategy and opportunities in response.
- Identify relevant funders, funding opportunities and business partners to support the continued growth and evolution of the charity’s core activities in public health, community programming and young people’s services.
- Developing relationships with a range of funders and partners, including corporate contacts, to generate new business leads.
- Working with the Communications team to develop and implement a business-focused communications strategy in support of business development and fundraising objectives.

**Applicant Requirements**:

- Previous experience of developing and implementing fundraising strategy in relation to public health / community programming and/or young people’s services
- Experience of Community and trust/grant Fundraising
- Understanding and experience of business development within the voluntary sector
- Demonstrable experience in managing relationships with external partners/stakeholders to deliver effective bid/funding proposals and develop new programming.
- At least three years proven track record of effective bid writing and administration.
- Highly articulate with excellent writing & communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to distil and summarise information clearly and engagingly.
- Excellent research skills, including into government policy and the ability to obtain and update varied demographic information.
- Commercially astute and detail focused with negotiation skills.
- Resilience with the ability to manage multiple initiatives.
- Self-motivated, solutions-oriented and flexible
- Able to manage staff, associates and the business development process including finance and operations.
- Demonstrable knowledge of commercial, finance and market related requirements for tenders
