Propagating Assistant

**Propagating Assistant Job Purpose**:
Responsible for working within the propagating team potting, maintaining and preparing plants, and any other duties required.

**Propagating Assistant Job Duties**:

- Plant Maintenance - watering, feeding, weeding,
- Propagation and Potting - taking meticulous care of the propagation and potting of our plants
- Picking and preparing plants for sale, loading plants onto trolleys, putting them onto display
- Nursery hygiene and tidying - cleaning tools, pots and trays; sweeping paths and work spaces; maintaining a clean and organised work area
- Nursery infrastructure maintenance e.g. irrigation lines, wooden shade areas
- Assisting customers with questions regarding plants and maintenance of them.

**Propagating Assistant Skills and Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in horticulture or knowledge of propagation techniques and plant care including watering
- Familiarity with different types of plants and their specific needs
- Ability to follow instructions accurately
- All tasks include lifting of heavy objects e.g. bags of compost and standing for long periods of time
- Attention to detail to ensure plants are properly cared for
- Works well within a team

**Salary**: £21,500.00-£25,000.00 per year

**Experience**:

- Horticulture: 1 year (required)
