We are a family-owned business with more than 50 years’ experience of working in this sector, successfully supplying from our manufacturing base in Washington in the North East of England.
Roundel engages in the design, manufacture, supply, and installation of affordable and luxury-fitted furniture. As a Facilities Operative, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the cleanliness, maintenance, and functionality of each of our facilities. You will be crucial in creating a safe and comfortable environment for all occupants and visitors. Your duties will include various tasks related to cleaning, maintenance, and organisation to uphold high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and operational efficiency.
**Main Duties**
- Maintain waste levels in all facilities both internally and externally.
- Maintain all wood-burning fires through a programme of regular cleaning.
- Respond promptly to help desk requests and inquiries from internal customers regarding facility-related matters.
- Carry out basic repairs around each facility.
- Maintain the grounds around each facility including, but not limited to lawn mowing, weeding, jet washing and litter picking.
- Ensure that all internal areas are kept clean and tidy.
- Comply with health and safety arrangements to enhance site safety, prevent accidents and ensure a secure environment for all.
- Any other reasonable requests made by the management team.
**Job holder requirements**
**Essential**
- Self-motivation.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Comfortable in undertaking hands-on tasks.
**Desirable**
- Previous experience working in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to carry out basic DIY tasks using hand tools.
- FLT license.
- MEWP license.
**Working conditions**
- Mandatory PPE if provided (safety footwear, overalls, eye and ear protection plus a full uniform).
- Monday to Friday shifts 8am to 4pm with overtime requirements Saturday as and when required due to business needs.
- Due to the factory environment, there will be dust particles and high noise levels. Annual testing is carried out to enable us to remain legally compliant with HSE regulations.
