An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Psychologist to join the Fear of Birth Pathway within Berkshire Healthcare Birth in Mind. Birth in Mind is a specialist service providing assessment and treatment for adults with Fear of Birth and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) to their birth experience. The Fear of Birth Pathway works with people with a severe fear of birth (medically referred to as tokophobia).

The role is based at Erlegh House on the University of Reading White Knights Campus. The location has plenty of car parking with electric car charging points, access to green spaces, local shops and access to the University of Reading gym.

We offer a blended model of delivery including face to face and online working from our well resourced clinic space or from home when appropriate.

As a valued member of our team, your role will combine clinical and service development components. You will be expected to support qualified members of staff with completing assessments and psychological birth plans, and if appropriate complete psychological interventions under supervision of a qualified staff member. This may include setting up and running a group intervention.

You will contribute to the completion of service development and evaluation projects and research including collection of clinical outcome measures, management of the clinical outcome measure database, conduct audits, and data analysis for service evaluation.

You would contribute to the triage process, alongside a qualified staff. You may be involved in developing clinical materials for the service and contribute to ongoing project work. There may also be the opportunity to work with our service user involvement group.

**The “must haves” for you to be considered for this role**:
An upper second class honours degree or higher in psychology

Experience of working with people with mental health difficulties, and ideally the perinatal population.

E xperience completing research, and the ability to complete clinical audits and service evaluation.

The ability to establish good working relationships, both with service-users and other mental health services.

Excellent time management and organisational skills when managing the duties and responsibilities.
