**About the role**:
This is an excellent opportunity to support the production on our 3rd Party Traction and Rolling Stock. Within this role you will work as an integral part of the Neville Hill TCC (TrainCare Centre) production team, complying with instructions, rules and regulations and working to the instructions of the Production Team Leader, to optimise productivity delivering safe reliable trains to laid down specification.
- You will be expected to manage the resources available to meet challenging production targets and be able to juggle multiple requests from various areas at one given time. You will also play a vital part in keeping production running smoothly and in achieving the highest safety and quality standards.

**Key responsibilities**:
This is a varied and challenging role, but here is a taste of what your day-to-day activities could include:

- Adhere to commitments outlined, and signed for, within the Safety Responsibility Statement.
- Obtaining, using, caring for and returning all instruments, tools and equipment to storage locations.
- Obtaining materials from stores/storage to enable work to be carried out.
- Operation of plant and equipment in accordance with proficiency certification where required.
- Liaise with the Team Leader to determine the workload priorities, ensure that the work is progressed.
- Adherence to working instructions and quality procedures, including ISO9001 & 14001 & OSH18001.
- Assist other members of the team as required. Undertake lower graded work, where competent, to facilitate completion of workload.
- Patch painting and associated surface preparation; Undertake welding, brazing and burning duties; undertake air conditioning maintenance where competent.

**About you**:

- Successful completion of level of a Level 3 NVQ competence necessary to undertake tasks and/or recognised apprenticeship.
- Practical ability and understanding of plumbing, vehicle building, mechanical and electrical principles, systems and techniques, including schematics (air, hydraulic and electrical).
- Demonstration of ability to successfully complete further competency training as required.
- Able to operate mechanical/electrical appliances.
- Able to read and understand technical and safety related instructions.
- Demonstrate ability to work on own initiative; good communication skills, both written and oral and good interpersonal skills.
