**Academics** are recruiting for SEN Teaching assistants for a vibrant and exciting specialist school in **North Birmingham**that caters to pupils aged 2-25 years. This school has been continually '**Outstanding**' since 2001 and strives to ensure that all pupils' individual needs are met through a highly personalised curriculum. Thiscurriculum operates from the developmental equivalent of 3-6 months old to the National curriculum for Year 6/7 pupils so the successful applicant(s) must be flexible in their approach.

Your role would be to work alongside the class teacher, helping them to meet the differing needs of the children in your care. You will need good interpersonal skills as you will be the first point of call for children in your care and be expected to liaisewith teaching staff and parents/guardians to ensure pupils get the highest quality education and care.

**Role Requirements**:

- A caring individual with energy, drive and enthusiasm.
- Ability to work as part of team, alongside teaching and support staff
- Prior experience of working with children - experience of supporting children with SEN needs would be advantageous.
- Willing to support a pupil with personal care where necessary.
- Able to use their initiative to support learning.

**Benefits**:

- Full time work (Mon-Fri)
- Working in a challenging, but rewarding environment
- £375 - £400 a week

**Requirements**:

- **DBS** on the update service or willing to get one.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Prior experience or willing to gain experience working with SEN pupils with complex needs.
