**The Opportunity**
**Salary**: £27,334 to £29,777 per annum plus a Crawley Weighting allowance

**Working Pattern**: Full Time (37 hours)

**Contract**: Permanent

**Location**: Crawley area

The YES Advisor role provides and coordinates resources to a young person and their family. Their role is to help the young person identify goals to work on and coordinate the delivery of resources and signpost to other services as appropriate.

As a YES Advisor, you will use a range of tools to assess need and create a delivery plan working closely with the family / carers. You will be expected to undertake assessments and intervention work with young people to provide them with appropriate resources to help them build resilience to deal with the issues they are facing.

You may also deliver direct support to families to develop parenting and life skills, self-confidence, motivation, and goal setting. You’ll also provide direct one to one support with young people. You’ll work closely with partner agencies to effect and sustain positive change for the family, individual members, and the community around them.

You’ll be required to travel to various locations around the county, including to areas that may not be easily accessible by public transport. There may also be an occasional requirement to work evenings to meet the needs of the service. There is a regular and intrinsic requirement to communicate in English with members of the public.
**Experience and Skills**
Key Skills:

- Ability to work with young people to identify goals and develop programmes and activities that respond to their interests, offer challenges, and meet their identified personal & social development needs.
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective and positive relationships with young people and their parents / carers.
- Ability to work effectively with young people where there is a need to interpret and pull together a variety of sources of information to answer queries, offer advice, give information, assist to solve problems and/or develop practical solutions.
- Ability to work as part of a team to motivate, support team members, colleagues, and partners.
- Sound and accurate IT skills.
- Ability to work to on your own initiative.

Qualifications and/or experience:

- 4 GCSEs with A-C passes including Maths and English, or equivalent qualification or experience demonstrating that level of numeracy and literacy.
- Ability to build effective relationships with a range of different people and be able to demonstrate effective engagement with young people.
- Knowledge of current issues relating to young people, in particular emotional wellbeing issues.
- At least one year’s experience of working with young people in some capacity, either voluntary, within community, family and/or within paid employment.
- Experience of designing resources and delivering effective interventions for children/young people.
- Valid and full driving licence.
