We are currently looking for a **Head of Performance Reporting** to join our **Finance **function within the **Corporate** group.

This is a **full-time** opportunity, on a **permanent **basis. The role will be based in 10 South Colonnade, Canary Wharf London, E14 4PU. Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas.

Government departments and agencies are working towards implementing a minimum 60% attendance in office sites.

We are currently implementing a flexible, hybrid way of working, with a minimum of 8 days per month working on site to enable the collaboration and contact with partners and stakeholders needed to deliver MHRA business. Attendance on site is driven by business needs so depending on the nature of the role, this can flex up to 12 days a month, with the remainder of time worked either remotely or in the office. Some roles will need to be on site more regularly.

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency enhance and improve the health of millions of people every day through the effective regulation of medicines and medical devices, underpinned by science and research.

The Corporate Group covers Finance, Commercial, HR and Infrastructure and Laboratory Services. We deliver core corporate functions that support the wider agency deliver its public health and regulatory activities as effectively and efficiently as possible.

This post sits in the Planning and Performance Team in Finance. We are responsible for developing the agency’s strategy and business plans; reporting on business performance and encouraging a high-performance culture; and ensuring the agency’s service fees continue to cover our costs.

**What’s the role?**

We are looking for a dynamic individual to oversee agency wide performance reporting; deliver high-quality impactful analysis and advice to senior leader on performance matters; and to help drive a more performance focused culture in the agency.

The key focus of the agency’s next business plan is optimising our service delivery, and performance reporting is central to that. The successful applicant will have an opportunity to work in a high profile and influential role and leave a lasting positive impact in an organisation at the heart of the UK’s healthcare system.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Manage and improve the agency’s performance reporting system through project planning, senior stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills, data analysis and using a range of tools and techniques to illustrate performance data and improve process efficiency.
- Provide high-quality impactful analysis and advice on the agency’s performance for senior stakeholders including our Executive Committee and Board; external stakeholders such as DHSC and Cabinet Office; and for our Annual Report and Accounts to Parliament.
- Lead on delivering two key commitments: our first centralised business volumes database so we can better inform income forecasting, business planning and performance reporting; an Agency business plan objective of improving the transparency of our performance data for key services.
- Derive insights, identity risks from performance data and offer challenge to persuade and engage to help teams and senior management manage the MHRA more effectively and thus help embed a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

**Who are we looking for?**
- A proven track record of business analysis and performance reporting, including creating and running systems to set and track performance, including business volumes.
- Strong analytical skills, able to deal with large volumes of complex data; create clear visual performance dashboards and summary reports that distil insight for senior managers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage staff, present convincingly to seniors, deal with resistance in a collaborative manner so as to maintain relationships and generate enthusiasm
- The ability to work independently, with the ability to plan, set up and run projects and balance competing priorities.
