Refuse Operative

We have some fantastic opportunities for Refuse Operatives at Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, and Warrington Council. These are full-time roles for the next 2 - 3 months, with the possibility of extension.

**What is the role?**

As part of the waste services team, you will be required to provide a comprehensive waste collection and recycling service.This will include the collection of recyclable and non-recyclable household waste, from properties within the Borough.

**What are your responsibilities?**
- Collect household waste for recycling/composting/disposal from properties in the Borough.
- Work in adverse weather conditions as necessary.
- Report all non-collections to the Senior Supervisor.
- To report any obstruction/problem to the line manager which prevents the allocated work being undertaken.
- Assist the public when and where possible, in a courteous and helpful manner at all times.
- Operate hydraulic bin lifts and tail lift equipment in line with agreed safe systems of work

**What skills do you Need?**
- Previous experience Refuse Operative, Clearance and Cleaning would be beneficial.
- You will need to be physically fit and healthy, as you will be required to lift heavy items
- Must have excellent people skills, as you will be speaking to the public and other members of staff
