This is a 6-month Internship with the potential to develop into a longer-term position, paying £25K and based in Westminster. This role is hybrid, with 3 days at the office.
**About the company**:
Our client is a boutique Asset Management firm based in Westminster, with a rare opportunity that has become available for an ambitious intern to enter the world of venture capital. Due to the lean nature of the ventures team, you will be exposed to a widerange of duties and opportunities that larger firms cannot offer.
Since 2010, investors have held their trust in the ventures team to grow the capital of their early-stage businesses. The award-winning team have made more than £255 million of investments and are experts at identifying possibilities in growth-stage companiesand helping them to accelerate their significant potential. Their services don’t stop at financial investment. Their work goes further and beyond by sharing resources and networks with the businesses who invest to provide them with the tools they need to grow.
Their portfolio of work contains over 40 companies from a diverse range of sectors including, but not limited to, retail (Baby Mori, Wolf & Badger, Shot Scope), software (Edge 10, Dragonfly AI, Imagen, Hanzo), food and beverage (Sessions Market, White Rabbit,Barts Pub), healthcare (Thriva, Cera Care, Daye, Doctify) and renewables.
**The Role**:
As an **Venture Capital Internship**, you will be directly supported and trained by an Associate throughout your internship, with support expected to reduce over time as you develop expertise in the role.
Your responsibilities will include:

- Perform initial screening of pitch decks to ensure they meet the basic investment criteria
- Perform analysis into specific trends, sectors, and markets to support origination and due diligence
- Organising and attending investee meetings and presentations for potential new investments
- Assist in financial analysis on historic financials and forward models; carrying out sensitivity analysis for investment scenarios
- Support investors with the management of the deal process
- Assist associates and investment directors on the boards of various portfolio companies, attending meetings, helping with on reporting, industry analysis, tracking and developing KPIs and performing valuations of companies
- Prepare the monthly portfolio tear sheet, identifying top and bottom portfolio performers

**About You**:

- You have strong numeracy skills, excellent analytical skills and a high attention to detail
- You are highly organised
- You have strong IT skills including competency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- You have high quality written and verbal communication abilities
- You are proactive and able to work to your own initiative
- You have an adaptable personality and thrive in a busy team environment
- Previous financial experience and/or knowledge would be advantageous
