Proxima, part of the global Consulting firm, Bain & Company, have a great opportunity for a **Data Specialist**, to be based in our new central **Cardiff **offices**. **You will be a key part of our Centre of Excellence team working alongside our offices in** London, Leeds, and the US.**

**Responsibilities of the Data Specialist**
- Utilise data expertise to add value to clients along the procurement lifecycle
- Craft effective data solutions for client and project teams, and delivering consistently excellent client output- Identify procurement cost-saving and optimisation opportunities by analysing complex client spend data- Create scenario-based tools and scorecards for consultants to compare cost-saving and optimisation opportunities for clients- Create data visualisation tools, bringing client data to life and telling a compelling story- Collate, transform and visualise client data- Alongside Client work, own and drive internal data projects to improve Proxima’s data capability and offering to clients- Provide coaching and guiding to colleagues, ensuring robust output quality- Sharing knowledge and experience, driving innovation for clients and within the Centre of Excellence team- Build credible relationships with Proxima client engagement teams and the wider Proxima business, becoming a trusted data advisor- Contribute to management and resourcing of the Data Analytics team**Criteria for the Data Specialist position**
- Excellent knowledge of and robust experience with Excel, SQL and PowerBI to transform large datasets into visualised output- Able to quickly make sense of unorthodox client data and advise on project direction from a technical perspective- Able to carve out data requirements in a procurement setting and drive data projects to fruition, proactively challenging, identifying risks and managing expectations- Experience of proactively working with a range of stakeholders to problem solve and find workable solutions- Enjoys bringing data to life, building and relaying a compelling a story with data- Thrives under pressure, leans into ambiguous requirements and able to spin multiple plates and projects- A well-seasoned communicator and collaborator, track record of building relationships, credibility and trust within an organisation- Experience of explaining data to non-technical stakeholders- Proactively seeks out constructive feedback and drives continuous improvement in self and within a team- Experience in coaching, guiding and mentoring colleagues, and providing developmental feedback- Experience within a procurement & supply-chain setting is desirable but not essential**Benefits of becoming a Data Specialist at Proxima**
