Freelance seamstress required to assist in a busy yet very friendly curtain and blind making studio based in Chew Magna.

Working alongside an experienced curtain maker, the work will involve assisting in the make-up of bespoke curtains, roman blinds and cushions. The work will be offered on both a piecemeal and an hourly basis, depending on the projects we are working on each week. Hours and units will be agreed each week on a variable and flexible basis, with some projects undertaken from home and others to be studio based. There will be no requirement to commit to a set amount of hours and projects can be undertaken to suit you.

The maker will require a suitable space to work from at home as well as a sewing machine. Whilst very thorough training will be offered, a broad experience in sewing is essential ideally at a professional level. The types of projects to be undertaken will include...
- Working together on large curtains
- Working autonomously on roman blinds
- Assisting with complicated fittings and site visits

The maker will require unwavering attention to detail and the ability (once trained) to work precisely to a spec. Experience, empathy and passion for people's homes and interior design would be an added bonus. Helping to brainstorm ideas, troubleshoot complicated set-ups and putting forward best solutions for clients would also be really useful for the business.
