Concrete Inspector

Sandberg is hiring for an experienced Concrete Inspector based in the Manchester area who will ensure quality of site cast and precast concrete.

**The Role**

This position is to undertake the inspection of concrete both at sites and precast works. You will be home-based and will be required to work independently with mínimal supervision; however, you will receive support from our London office. It is likely there will be a significant pre-cast concrete bias, which will require visits to precast works in mainland UK and Ireland.

You will join a team of inspectors based throughout the UK. Many of our inspectors have an array of skills so prior experience/knowledge or a willingness to develop in areas such as steelwork fabrication, steelwork inspection, welding or coatings would be beneficial.

**Role and Responsibilities**
- Inspection of site cast and precast concrete including reinforcement bar on live construction sites
- Review of relevant documentation including specifications
- Communication of findings to client including as formal written reports
- Home-based role visiting different sites with additional visits to pre-cast works in Ireland and mainland UK

**About you**

Essential
- Strong technical knowledge of precast and wet concrete
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role
- Good at communicating including with the client and other contractors
- Able to work independently and manage own time
- Experience of drafting technical reports
- Driving licence and own vehicle

Desirable
- CSCS Card
- Knowledge of steelwork fabrication
- (Strongly desirable) Background in construction, civil, structural or surveying profession
