**Purpose of Role**

To support and supervise the daily production function, to ensure the smooth and efficient management of the production operation and to support the team to achieve the departmental processes and procedures.

**To be considered for this role, it is essential that you have experience working within a Production Supervisor position and are can clearly demonstrate examples of developing your team**.

**Key responsibilities**
- Supervising the production team on a day to day basis to ensure that the department is running efficiently and achieving targets
- Assisting with the booking in of completed production into despatch department
- Supporting the department manager with item costings and new unit pricing
- Ensuring health and safety procedures and other company policies and procedures are adhered to at all times
- Supporting the department manager with key holding duties
- Any other duty as required as a reasonable management request
- Ability to coach and mentor colleagues team, initiating, coordinating and enforcing company systems, policies and procedures
- Work in accordance with health and safety regulations, and also ensuring the health and safety of all colleagues

**Role Tasks**
- Supporting the supervision of the production team, coaching on technical knowledge production timings and schedule, production quality and fault finding
- Providing cover for production lines or print room dependent upon business needs
- Ensuring that LED boards and supplies are picked in line with production schedule and delivered to departments
- Reviewing the start of day procedures, checking for correct PPE and absence for the team members
- Ensuring all production goods in are booked in and out correctly and in a timely manner using the EFACS computer system
- Supporting the monitoring of the booking in procedure to ensure stock records are kept accurate and up to date
- Supporting the monitoring of the MRP and order book
- Liaising with senior management and other departments to facilitate production targets
- Maintaining a clean and tidy work environment, following company process and procedures of the 5S system
- Supporting the management team with H&S duties and fire marshalling
- Provide cover for the departmental manager, overseeing the running of the production department and the production schedule and order book
- Supervision of the supervisor, line leaders and team members, conducting absence reviews, return to work interviews and recruiting new team members
- Creation of the daily production schedule and reacting to the production schedule
- Detailed knowledge of EFACS to support production planning
- Analysis of production trends to support proactive production planning
- Management of team processes and holiday planning, recruitment and absence reviews, supporting with queries and counselling

**Person Specification**

You will be self-driven, conscientious with good communication skills. Mature and credible with an ability to work on your own initiative or as a part of a team. You will have a clear focus on high quality and an attention to detail, with the ability to work flexibly. High level of professionalism.
- Ability to work at pace with energy with an interest in learning new skills and seeks opportunity for advancement
- Capability to support a team, providing advice and making decisions, seeking advice and clarity from the manager as required
- Ability to concentrate, focus and good attention to detail
- Mature, credible and comfortable in working with people at different levels
- High level of professionalism with previous supervisory experience in a similar environment
- Ability to prioritise workload and delegate tasks where necessary
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Conscientious and proud of the quality of work produced
- Ability to prioritise own workload and seek support where necessary
- Computer Literate with the ability to use the EFACS system
- Flexible approach to work and be prepared to work overtime as required
- Team player with the ability to work with and support other team members, sharing best practice and making suggestions for improvements
- Fork Lift Truck Licence **essential** for this role
