We now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Prosthetist to join our team on our contract at the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle.

As well as an experienced team of Prosthetists, the centre has a fully equipped prosthetic workshop with skilled technicians that manufacture bespoke prosthetic devices. The team use Rodin CAD system for scanning and digital modelling. There is close MDT working with the NHS team with a Specialist Consultant in Amputee Rehabilitation, Physios, OTs, Specialist Nurses and Rehabilitation Assistants as well as support staff.

The service treats all amputation levels in adults and children, and covers the North Cumbria area as well as out of area referrals from NHS Scotland, South Cumbria, and the Northeast of England. The centre deals with pain management, wound healing and health screening to prevent further limb loss, with counselling available on site.

Working in this busy, dedicated amputee rehabilitation unit provides a great opportunity for an experienced Prosthetist to further develop their skills.

**Responsibilities of the Prosthetist**:
You'll work with a complex range of patients and use the latest technology including CAD CAM
You'll provide a high standard of prosthetic care and treatment across a range of amputation levels and pathologies ensuring best practice at all times.

You'll maintain your own up to date knowledge of available components and have a good understanding of their functions to ensure well-fitting prostheses.

**Requirements of the Clinical Lead Prosthetist**:

- You’ll have a good base of clinical experience across a range of amputation levels
- You’ll be flexible and innovative in your approach and work to the highest professional standards, with care and integrity, to maintain our excellent reputation, and to ensure full patient satisfaction
- You must be qualified in Prosthetics/ Orthotics and HCPC registered; membership of BAPO or ISPO is also desirable
