Assistant Director- Safeguarding,dols and Quality

**Job Title**: _Assistant Director - Adult Safeguarding, DOLs and Quality Assurance _**Location**: Surrey
**Contract Type**: 3-6 months (Hybrid working - 1 day a week in the office)
**Pay**: £600/day
**Key Responsibilities**:
In this pivotal role, you will:
- Direct Safeguarding, Quality Assurance, DOLs, and the Adult Safeguarding Hub within the Adult Social Care Directorate.
- Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure readiness for CQC inspections.
- Provide strategic leadership for safeguarding, ensuring compliance with national statutes, regulations, and guidance.
- Lead and drive significant strategic programs, contributing to continuous practice improvement and innovation.
- Engage with key stakeholders, including the Surrey Safeguarding Adults Board and Surrey Safeguarding Children's Partnership Board.
- Lead a defined service area, providing professional advice, ensuring quality, and meeting statutory requirements.
- Manage budgets effectively, champion equality, and promote diversity and inclusivity.
**Specific Role Accountabilities**:
- ** Safeguarding**:
- Provide strategic leadership for safeguarding, ensuring compliance with national statute, regulation, and guidance.
- Work closely with the Surrey Safeguarding Adults Board and partners to deliver the strategic plan.
- Ensure clear communication and joint work between Surrey County Council's Children Schools and Families directorate and the Surrey Safeguarding Children Partnership.
- ** Adult Safeguarding Hub (ASH)**:
- Offer leadership and strategic direction to the Adults Safeguarding Hub, working collaboratively with partners to develop a partnership model.
- ** Assurance**:
- Collaborate with the Principal Social Worker to ensure good practice within the adult social care directorate.
- Maintain oversight of the work of the Safeguarding advisors and their role in practice improvement and development.
- ** Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLs)**:
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the MCA & DOLs Team to ensure statutory services are fulfilled and delivered to agreed standards.
**Dimensions**:
- Direct responsibility for a staffing budget of circa £1 million.
- Direct Reports: Senior Manager Safeguarding (tbc), Senior Manager MCA & DOLs, Team Manager ASH, PSW.
**Requirements**:
- Degree level or equivalent qualification plus substantial management experience.
- Experience within Social Care
- Local Authority experience at Assistant Director level or similar
- Strong leadership skills, analytical thinking, and partnership building.
