What you'll do

As a Scrum Master you will play a pivotal role in developing agile maturity across the Identity directorate, alongside our transformation and scaling ambitions. This is an entrepreneurial role that will be focused on driving and embedding agile and lean ways of working within engineering squads, whilst also collaborating and contributing to the success of the larger-scaled tribe.
- Work alongside mixed discipline squads on a sophisticated global identity platform, with multiple components and customer journeys; ensuring high value, frequent and smooth delivery becomes a recurring cycle.
- Be a champion for agile/lean adoption and transformation. Mentor, coach and develop squads to high performance through continuous improvement cycles; use health checks and data to track delivery and make informed decisions and optimisations on progress, performance, and quality.
- Engage partners and facilitate Scrum/Agile ceremonies at a regular cadence to ensure key parties are aware of progress and are in-sync. Identify impediments early and support squads with unblocking and resolving constraints.
- Support Product Owners with the ongoing creation and prioritisation of clear roadmaps, OKRs and backlogs. Ensure these are highly visible and understood within squads and encourage collaboration and close partnerships between Product and Delivery.
- Define guardrails that set the right expectations for the transparency and quality of work items, so they can be planned, developed, and completed efficiently during product delivery.
- Build a trusting, motivated and supportive environment, with an emphasis on problem-solving and a growth mindset. Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution, so that everyone has a chance to thrive.
- Act as a servant leader, protect and shield squads from outside distractions. Understand what is within the power and control of a squad, so they make autonomous changes and decisions.
- Facilitate the right solution to a challenge, rather than the fastest, and ensure squads learn/grow from mistakes.

What you'll bring
- Demonstrable experience in a Scrum Master or Agile Coach role.
- Extensive experience within a fast-paced software development or engineering team; great understanding of the SDLC, technology-focused delivery, and the demands it can bring.
- Proven experience working in an Agile-Lean environment, including working with one or more agile frameworks or approaches, such as Scrum, Kanban, XP, SAFe, LeSS, DevOps, TDD, BDD, Paired Programming etc.
- Agile qualifications such as Certified Scrum Master, SAFe or ICAgile certifications highly beneficial.
- Outstanding leadership, communication, listening, negotiating and influencing skills. Able to steer decisions in a fast-paced commercial environment.
- Hands on experience coaching teams to high performance, and empowering teams to improve; experience teaching and embedding Agile and Lean principles.
- Practical experience using data and metrics (throughput, aging WIP, story points, velocity etc.) for forecasting and analysing performance, and to increase levels predictability within a delivery environment.
- A self-starter with a real passion for software and technology. Maintains a positive attitude whilst juggling multiple tasks simultaneously.
