**School Shop Assistant**:
**Contract type**: Permanent

**Hours of work**: 30 hours per week, 40 weeks per year,

**Term-Time **Tuesday - Wednesday, Friday 9:00am-5pm.
Thursday 10:00am - 6pm with 30mins unpaid lunch each day.

**Outside of Term-Time** Monday - Thursday 9am - 5pm with 30mins unpaid lunch each day.

There may be some very occasional Saturday work throughout the year.

2 weeks annual leave to be taken during the summer holidays

Not required to work school Easter Holidays and Half-Terms (please note holiday dates may differ from state school holidays).

**Salary**: £15,243 per annum

**Job Overview**

We are looking to recruit a School Shop Assistant to support with the day to day running of the School Shop. The Shop is an extremely busy and dynamic environment and is situated within a Historic Menagerie in the bustling School Site.

This role includes supporting the team with deliveries, and general day to day administrative duties whilst working in a fast-paced environment. Excellent customer service skills, and the ability to multitask is essential. **Due to the location of this job the applicant must be able to have their own method of transportation.**

**Purpose of the job**:
To assist the shop team with the general daily tasks required in both the School Shop and Tuck Shop.

**Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities**
- To ensure a high level of customer relations with parents, staff, pupils and guests who visit the shop.
- To fit new and existing pupils with uniform and sports kit. To supply them with stationary items required for school.

**Key Tasks**
- To maintain departmental standards including general cleanliness and adherence to Statutory Health and Safety legislation.
- Maintain excellent customer service.

**Shop Tasks**
- Keep shop shelves stocked and notify senior member of team if stock levels run low.
- To perfom cash duties as required - cash reconciliation and till floats.
- To open and close the shop when required
- To perfom stock takes as and when required by the Shop Manager
- To perform additional tasks as required by the Shop Manager
- Support the shop with use of the sewing machine - training will be provided.
