**Job purpose**

Running for 10 years, BAFTA albert is the leading sustainability organisation for the film and television industry. Leading a charge against climate change, albert brings the screen industries together to educate, enable and celebrate efforts to reduce environmental impacts and inspire audiences to act for a sustainable future.

We have a huge opportunity: According to the albert Carbon Calculator, TV production contributes 4.2 tonnes Co2e per hour of TV, while the average tent-pole film production produces an average of 2,840 tonnes Co2e, and a global industry spending over 200bn USD globally we also have significant purchase power to shift supply chains from ‘dirty’ goods and services to clean ones. And, of course, we have a significant platform on screen.

Climate change is global, as are the screen industries and their supply chains. It is vital we enable UK and international productions and global audiences to engage with their unique opportunities.

The work albert does has grown significantly in recent years with demand from broadcasters mandating our certification and international territories expanding quickly. albert engages with broadcasters and producers as well as educational partners, enabling the production community to align with albert’s aims and ensuring albert’s tools, resources, communications and initiatives are relevant to those markets. The albert sustainability assistant will play a crucial role in delivering albert’s aims.

**Who you’ll be**

You will be excellent communicator, with industry know-how and great team player. You’ll be passionate about the opportunity to shape and influence the TV and film industry’s efforts to reduce environmental impacts around the world and confident in dealing with a range of stakeholders. You’ll be culturally astute, brilliantly organised and not shy of putting forward new ideas. You will relish the opportunity to work for a purpose-led, outcome-focused organisation.

**Key responsibilities and accountabilities**:
Advise television productions on sustainable production techniques and support productions working to achieve albert certification
Support productions using the albert production carbon calculator and completing their carbon action plan
Contribute to the continual improvement of our custom tools
Coordinate the delivery of albert’s production support offering
Deliver trainings to industry professionals on sustainable production and the albert toolkit
Provide administrative support to the Data Analyst and other members of the broader team
Administer processes, conduct desk research, and support data entry and extraction that that underpins all our work
Undertake other tasks to support wider project objectives

Effective communication/customer service skills
First class administrative skills and high IT proficiency, including use of Excel

Strong numeracy skills and the ability to sense-check your own work

Highly motivated and organised

Film or television production experience
Knowledge or understanding of carbon footprints
Experience in multiple genre media production environments
Understanding of climate change and ways to improve impact
Understanding of environmental management
Familiarity with albert tools, resources, certification and training

Please note this is a 12 month fixed term contract
