Venture Recruitment Partners are delighted to be partnering with a growing SME in the Southampton area who are seeking to recruit a Financial Controller in a newly-created position.
Hybrid working - 4 days a week in the office
Key Responsibilities of the Financial Controller include:

- Introduce and then maintain the necessary controls and procedures within the wider finance department to ensure accurate and timely reporting of results.
- Provide timely information to allow business decisions to be made quickly and accurately based on current data, trends and results.
- Use experience and knowledge to upskill and train the finance team members and drive ‘best-practice’ approach within the team.
- Ensure compliance with all external reporting requirements, flagging and mitigating risk wherever possible.
- Provide internal and external reporting in-line with requirements, utilizing trends, KPIs and forecasts to compare results and manage variances.
- Be the point of contact within Finance and build relationships with the other business departments, ensuring that Finance business partner effectively in order to enhance the results of the company as a whole - providing guidance and support as necessary.
- Be prepared to get ‘your hands dirty’ in order to facilitate and improve the running of the overall finance department and resolve issues as they arise implementing effective processes to ensure not repeated moving forwards.

Key Skills/Experience of the Financial Controller include:

- ACA /ACCA/CIMA qualified
- Practice trained (desirable)
- Analytical mindset
- SAGE system experience
- Proven background in team management and development.
