Acorn is currently recruiting a Purchasing Assistant to join their client, who is a small-scale manufacturer of bespoke and semi-bespoke high-end mass spectrometers.

**Duties**:

- Raising purchase requisition orders.
- Raising stock orders.
- Maintaining purchase order and shortage reports.
- Checking order acknowledgements for discrepancies.
- Maintaining price list database.
- Liaising with suppliers and internal customers.
- Reconciliation of Vendor statements
- Assisting internal customers with invoice/PO queries.
- Visit suppliers to gain experience in negotiation, as well as developing a deeper understanding of manufacturing processes and their limitations.
- Liaison with internal customers regarding approval of invoices.

Skills and experience:

- Able to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks.
- Self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative.
- Able to remain calm under pressure.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Maintain a quality focus at all times.
- Excellent numeracy, literacy skills.
- Disciplined and organised approach to tasks with the ability to prioritise under pressure.
- Flexible and innovative approach to problem solving.
- Experience working in a purchasing or administrative role would be preferred.
- Strong IT skills in all MS Office packages, particularly Excel.
