Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for an Adult Senior Practitioner within the Single Point of Access Team to work full time based in Enfield.

The salary for this permanent Senior Practitioner job is up to £47,805 per annum.

**Main duties**:

- To undertake complex assessments and care planning and to maintain a reduced caseload of complex cases.
- To provide professional guidance and support to Social Work staff supporting the delivery of high-quality customer focussed services that encourage and enable independence and choice and manage risk.
- Initiate and/or engage with recommend best practice developments and implement changes in policy/procedures within a specialist area of the Service and participate in practice development by briefing colleagues in new procedures and/or different methods or approaches.
- Carry out audits or participate in research to support quality assurance and develop standards as required.
- Contribute to the management and development of specific areas of service, including improvements in delivery, determination of priorities, service team plans and implementation of new practice initiatives. Briefing colleagues in new procedures and different methods or approaches.
- Actively participate in quality assurance initiatives for the Service, identifying problem areas and recommending solutions, ensuring that assessments and care plans meet the needs of service users, carers and address risks.
- Establish effective links and working relationships with other key colleagues from different services within and external to the Council and Mental Health NHS Trusts, acute NHS Trusts, ensuring a professional approach to team working and appropriate services for service users and carers.
- To co-ordinate the process of assessment for individuals they assess for possible detention under the act who may need a quick resolution using relevant legislation and resources. Whilst doing so, protecting their human rights, respecting social & cultural norms, their privacy & preserving their dignity.
- When considering the need to admit the patient to hospital either voluntarily or under compulsion, to reach an independent judgement about whether the use of compulsion is necessary, in all the circumstances of the case and to pursue alternatives to the use of compulsion wherever possible.
- Responsibility for providing professional reflective supervision of social workers and other related trainee within relevant team.
- Actively participate in quality assurance initiatives for the service, identifying problem areas and recommending solutions, ensuring that assessments, care plans and risk management plans meet the needs of service users and carers.

**Requirements of this Senior Practitioner** **job**:

- A social Work Degree or equivalent.
- Understanding of relevant legislation.
- Ability to engage, coach and motivate teams and set clear targets and expectations.
- Experience of successfully managing performance and providing clear constructive feedback.
- Continual professional development.
- Social Work England registered.
