**Shift Technician**

**Salary**: £38,000.00- £42,000.00 per annum (depending on shifts) plus Veolia benefits

Location:Reading, RG1 5AN

Hours: 40 hours per week, normal hours are Monday - Friday (to be discussed at interview)

**What will you be doing?**
- Carry out work as per schedule supplied by the Services Manager and as per site policies, schedules and procedures
- Troubleshoot problems with equipment as necessary, and as directed by site supervisors
- Complete site documentation before and after work tasks, as appropriate and Update maintenance task list’s as appropriate
- Liaise with sub-contractors during planned service maintenance
- Carry out Risk Assessment of Equipment Maintenance Task List steps and ensure these are always kept valid.
- Carry out Periodic reviews of EWI/SOP to ensure documents are always current and valid.
- Flexibility to work around Maintenance Shutdown’s
- Participate in Audits of the Mechanical and Electrical plant rooms and follow up on actions-Ensure all tools and equipment are kept in good condition
- Drive local reviews of maintenance performance data using published maintenance excellence KPI results,
- PM program content is to be reviewed on regular basis to remove non-value added activities’ and duplication
- Ensure that the CMMS system contains the most up to date information regarding equipment data, spares and maintenance man-hours
- Maximise maintenance wrench time utilisation through effective planning

**What are we looking for?**
- Recognized trade qualification, mechanical or plumbing
- 3 years minimum experience in a similar role and good understanding of the basic fundamentals of the various utilities systems
- Attention to detail
- Good problem solving and trouble shooting ability.Good Initiative and Pro-active attitude in approach to duties

**Desirable**
- Related mechanical experience a distinct advantage
- Methodical & Analytical approach to work.
- Trade qualification, Air Conditioning systems a distinct advantage
- Pumps, HVAC Systems, Compressors, Boilers, steam systems and ancillary services, (DHW skids), Chillers, Cooling Towers, Clean steam Boilers, Purified Water Systems, CIP systems; general canteen/kitchen equipment
- Building Management Systems (Scada)-Good understanding of Preventive Maintenance Systems.
- Work within a Computerized Maintenance Management Work Order system environment.
- Work within a documented Permit to Work System
- Computer literate
- Ability to read and understand P&ID’s/electrical drawings-Understanding of SOP’s
