We are pleased to be able to offer the opportunity for a **Curriculum Leader - Art and Design** to join our team at **The Portsmouth Academy **from **September 2024**.
As the Curriculum Leader - Art and Design, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our students' artistic journey. You will have responsibility for implementing an engaging and effective Art curriculum that fosters creativity and growth. As an inspiring leader, you will lead by example, develop and motivate your team and remain committed to achieving high standards.

The Portsmouth Academy embarked on an exciting journey and have been recently been awarded the prestigious **Artsmark Award**. Artsmark is the only creative quality standard for schools, accredited by Arts Council England. It supports schools to develop and celebrate arts and cultural education across the whole curriculum, bringing learning to life for children and young people.

- Be a qualified Teacher of Art and able to deliver to KS3 & KS4
- Teaching Photography at KS4 is desirable but not essential
- Be passionate about teaching and learning and transforming the life chances of our students
- Outstanding classroom practice with high expectations for achievements and behaviour
- Be able to plan and deliver a creative and stimulating curriculum
- High expectations for yourself and the students to ensure that all achieve their very best
- An aspiring leader of learning and happy to grasp exciting CPD opportunities
- Contribute to the values, ethos and the development of our schools

We are a “Microsoft Showcase School” due to our approach to digital learning. The academy has launched a one:one device policy, so every child in Year 7 and Year 8 has their own laptop, and we are particular interested in finding teachers who have experience of, or would like to develop experience of, teaching with technology.
