The business has experienced and well-established operational delivery teams, which require a knowledgeable and robust Health and Safety Team to ensure the provision and maintenance of excellent Site Standards.

The individual will work within a team of 3 members reporting to SHEQ Manager.

Role:
The Health and Safety Adviser will be responsible for supporting the Key Account Managers, Project Managers and Company Senior Leadership on Construction Health and Safety matters standards and general SHEQ compliance.

Specific priorities will include:

- Promoting a positive Health and Safety culture across the organisation.
- Advising key stakeholders on contractor and client side to ensure our sites are compliant and safe in accordance with regulations and our own accredited standards.
- Supporting Site Managers in the provision of operational Health and Safety.
- Ensuring risk assessments are in place to cover all areas of the business - this will include reviewing current risk assessments.
- To take responsibility for collating and presenting team data on a regular basis for review with team leaders at team meetings.

To undertake Accident Investigations and collate data for Senior Management Team Meetings.

To update & maintain the Company’s Fire Risk assessment.

To prepare and compile Construction Phase Plans for the large bespoke projects

To carry out employee DSE Risk Assessments

To assist with all aspects of Health & Safety arrangements within the joinery workshop

Maintaining an up-to-date professional working knowledge of government and industry standards in Health and Safety.

As required, assist with the pre-tender and pre-qualification process to ensure Health and Safety risks are identified and costed.

We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor within the Construction Industry, qualified to NEBOSH General or Construction qualification, is a must. NEBOSH Fire Safety qualification desirable and is passionate about Health and Safety. An understanding of the commercial shopfitting construction environment would be advantegous.

This is an office based role at Thompson’s head office in Blackpool. There may be occasions whereby you are required to support site visits and audits, although these are likely to be in the North West region only, and on an ad-hoc basis. You must have a full UK driving license and if you already have a CSCS card this would be an advantage.

In return we will offer circa £30,000 salary, depending on experience, government pension scheme and company holidays. The package will also include laptop, your own office space/working environment and the chance to join an exciting and growing business within the construction industry.
