We are currently looking for a Education Welfare Officer for a role in Hillingdon. The postholder will deliver and coordinate personalised, evidence based early and preventative interventions for children, young people and their families in Tier 2 and 3 ofneed with the aims of de-escalating issues of concern, achieving sustainable change, promoting capability and capacity within families to problem solve difficulties they are or may experience. The post holder will play a lead role in responding to family needwhere the primary presenting issue relates to non participation in education, employment or training (EET).
The Key Worker (Participation) will manage a caseload where the prevailing issue is non participation in EET education but may also include working with:
- higher need families with complex and multiple difficulties involved in or at risk of being involved in crime, antisocial behaviour, disengagement with education and risk of homelessness or edge of care; and
- Lower need families experiencing difficulties that are likely to become more complex and entrenched without a brief solution focused intervention.
Demand for support will come from a number of sources including schools and Academies who have identified school attendance concerns.
The Key Worker (Participation) will also work with fellow team members and partner agencies and in conjunction with the Performance and Intelligence Team to monitor and track the participation of 13 - 19 year olds (up to 25 for looked after young people) andprioritise targeted intervention and support for those most at risk of sustained disengagement.
