Apprentice Level 3 Early Years Practitioner

**This position is for Birdhouse Day Nursery located in South Croydon, London.**
Birdhurst Day Nursery is run by Christian Family Concern, (CFC), a registered Charity Founded in 1893. CFC is a non-profit organisation, providing a range of services to help parents meet their children's needs, with the emphasis on working to keep families together.
The nursery ethos is to work with every family and child regardless of their ethnic background, race, colour, gender or religious beliefs.
Birdhurst Day Nursery has been in operation for over 20 years.
The Nursery building was constructed in 1968, and was originally opened as a children's home in 1970, as part of the Charity's adoption work, children's homes and mother and baby support services. Our families at the Nursery come from a huge range of backgrounds, having in common the need for high quality reliable childcare whist enabling them to work and meet the high cost of living in Croydon and the surrounding area.
The aim is to provide high quality childcare and a positive environment for families and young people from all sections of the community, within a Christian environment.
**Essential Requirements - GCSE Maths and English C or 4, or an equivalent (Functional Skills level 2)**
**The main responsibilities of this job role will include**:
- Working towards **Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship**.
- Supporting the development of the childcare provision.
- Providing an excellent range of activities that ensures that the child learns **whilst having fun**.
- Being a team player.
- **Providing challenging and stimulating activities for all children**:
- Taking part in First Aid training as required
- Responsibility for equal opportunity in delivery, access and attitude in aspects of service delivery
- Working with teams across the nursery setting
- **Supporting children’s learning and development.**:
- Preparing and maintaining the environment and resources for the children.
- Preparation of food for breakfast, snack and afternoon tea.
- Supporting children’s self-help needs.
- **Being creative and enthusiastic**.
- Following Safeguarding rules and regulations to also meet the Standard of the Childcare Apprenticeship.
Level 3 NVQ - Advanced Diploma Early Years Educator - Your apprenticeship will last for 13 months. You will be supported by an assessor throughout your apprenticeship, as well as a mentor within the nursery. **You will be working full time in the nursery**. Your classroom days will be based online as a remote session which you will need to be fully available for, and your main childcare apprenticeship work will be done in a nursery local to you.
