The Job
**To be eligible for an apprenticeship, you need to have resided in the United Kingdom for 3 consecutive years or have the Right to Work in the United Kingdom.**
Apprentices will be working in all aspects of Pitch (Slater Tiler) Roofing. Some examples are:
Install plain tiles, interlocking tiles, natural slates and fibre-cement slates.
Install underlay, battens and related roofing components.
Install dry and wet fixed products to verges, hips, ridge and valleys.
Install insulation and ventilation products for warm and cold roof construction.
Although this is a Roofing apprentice role, there may at times be some other aspects of construction involved in, which they shall be supervised and trained. When the apprentices are working, they will be supervised by a fully qualified member of staff and will be shown all the correct procedures including health and safety in the workplace. Along with ensuring that their work area is clean and safe, and that all the tools are cleaned and put away correctly at the end of each day.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
There are many different career progression routes within construction, such as becoming a site supervisor or manager. Directly after your apprenticeship, you could be offered any of the following career progression routes:
Self - employed Pitch (Slater Tiler) Roofer or Flat Roofer
Level 2 Sheet Cladding Roofing Apprenticeship
Level 2 Property Maintenance Apprenticeship (general builder/all trades Apprenticeship)
Level 2 Carpentry Apprenticeship
Working Week and Pay
Apprentices will be expected to work a minimum of 30 hours a week and a maximum of 40 hours a week with exception for college.
