NCSL is seeking an experienced Driver/Labourer to join our Building Maintenance team. This is a hands-on role carrying out a variety of labouring tasks across NCSL and Norwich City Council's properties.

The main responsibilities of this position include clearing void properties, removing trade waste, gutter cleaning, wallpaper stripping, cleaning, garden clearance including strimming/brush cutting, and general labouring work in domestic and non-domestic properties. You will also assist skilled tradespeople with necessary preparation work and two-handed jobs as needed.

**Key duties include**:

- Working proficiently on your own carrying out waste clearance, gutter cleaning, and labouring tasks without direct supervision
- Accurately completing deliveries and assigned tasks to defined standards
- Ensuring relevant health, safety, and occupant safety legislation is met
- Using a PDA/mobile device to complete work documentation
- Adhering to all company policies and procedures
- Participating in the out-of-hours on-call rota when required
- Contributing to an effective operational team environment
- Providing excellent customer service
- Ensure / contribute / lead on the delivery of quality assured, client focused products and services to meet the agreed requirements of the customer.
- Where appropriate, provide instruction and supervision to apprentices and trainees.

The duties listed are not exhaustive and may be varied; therefore the post holder will be expected to undertake other duties as appropriate to the role and as requested by his/her line manager.

**Requirements**:

- Relevant qualification or be part qualified with proven experience in a labouring/driving role
- Good knowledge of material delivery processes
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations
- Extensive previous building labouring/driving experience
- Full UK driving license with the ability to travel to East Anglia if and when required to do so.
- Ability to work independently and to high standards under pressure
- Ability to interpret instructions and plans
- Knowledge of Norwich and it’s street layout
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Teamwork abilities and commitment to collaboration
- Be part of out of hours call out rota if required.
