**Your new role**
As a Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working across different year groups from early years up to post 16. This will require you to be able to teach and assist in different environments, in a caring, safe and engaging manner. You will be assistingthose with Autistic spectrum disorders, Down Syndrome, Autism, PMLD, SLD, MLD, ADHD and challenging behaviour. You will be working alongside a class teacher either on a 1-1 basis or as a group, also having any sessions required with students. This role willbe on a long-term basis in a permanent position.
**What you'll need to succeed**
To be a successful Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant you will need to have excellent communication skills both written and verbally to be able to support the children effectively. You need to be genuine and enthusiastic to be able to build the communication,social and emotional skills of the children to help them become independent. You must have 40 days of experience in a school-based environment or in childcare and/or adult care.
