About Us
The Education Welfare Service is a small team with a big reach

The service performs statutory functions in relation to legal intervention to improve attendance, as well as providing early intervention support to schools from our dedicated team of Education Welfare Officers.

Education Welfare Officers work alongside a range of professionals in support of a strong multi-agency effort to improve attendance in line with our ‘Think Attendance’ strategy and our ‘Support First’ approach.

We endeavour to ensure pupils and families receive the right kind of support by the right people in the right place at the right time so that regular school attendance results in our children making the most of the learning opportunities open to them.

Working with us as an Education Welfare Officer, you will need to be:
**Flexible **- working remotely and on-site in schools and Council work spaces

**Collaborative **- believe in a partnership approach that supports achieving the best outcomes for children

**Professional **- adhere to relevant guidance and regulations and have great customer service skills

You will be supported by one of our long-standing service managers with years of experience under their belt, with the opportunity to access quality training and on-going CPD.
