Laboratory Assistant

**Type**: Permanent and 1 year Fixed term, Full Time and Part-time

**Salary**: £20,972 - £22,766 per annum, pro-rata (Under Review)

Based in SRUC’s Veterinary Services Veterinary and Analytical Laboratories (VAL), in this role the main duties will include the following;
- Receipt of incoming samples
- Dealing with internal and external customer queries
- Registering samples and result entry into our database
- Processing of samples including robotic processing
- Administrative support
- Driving to collect samples from local vet practices

Working hours are: 8:46am - 5:10pm Monday to Friday or 10:06am - 6:30pm Monday to Friday (on a rotational basis) with a lunch break of 1 hour each day.

In addition, all laboratory staff are expected to work some Saturday mornings 0830 - 1230 on a rotational basis.

Applicants should hold a minimum of 4 Standard Grades (or equivalent). Current full drivers licence is essential as some driving duties are a core part of this role.
