Auction Operative - Sitework & Warehouse for Online Auctioneer of Industrial & Commercial Equipment

Due to the recent growth New England are looking to appoint a dedicated and ambitious Auction Operative that will learn all areas of the business but predominately focus on our Auction clearance and Site Work. If you are a Machinery Enthusiast then this role is ideal for you

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A HIGHLY PHYSICAL ROLE, MOVING HEAVY GOODS ON A DAILY BASIS, SO STRENGTH AND GOOD PHYSICAL FITNESS ARE A FUNDAMENTAL REQUIREMENT.

Based at our Head Office in Oldbury but the role will require frequent travel, so a driving license is essential. Your role is to prepare the site ready for cataloguing this may require cleaning and preparing machinery and equipment ready for presentation. For projects that require full clearances, you will be responsible for emptying and vacating our client’s property, liaising with our warehouse, and coordinating removals of assets.

The role will involve:

- Managing clients' items - preparing, cleaning, and organising customer orders
- Unloading deliveries and placing items in line with guidance
- Moving Machinery and Equipment so Heavy Lifting will be required
- Health and Safety focused - completion of risk assessments
- Driving company vehicles to and from the site as and when required
- Maintaining a presentable site, and setting items up for viewing days
- Ensuring all items are recorded and labelled accurately and stored efficiently. Deliveries and handling includes large and fragile objects so attention to detail is critical.
- picking and packing lots for dispatch
- Other viewing and sale day roles
- Working in the warehouse you will be responsible for stock checks, stock rotation and general tidiness
- You will also deal with goods inwards and storage
- There will be times when you will be required to work within other business areas, which could involve computer work, collection chasing, liaising with buyers on the phone.
- other ad-hoc duties.
- Able to lift large, bulky items;
- Adaptable, with a flexible approach to work;
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team;
- Able to communicate professionally, accurately and clearly, both orally and in writing;
- Have a valid UK manual driver’s license without any points/endorsements relating to drink, drug driving or driving without insurance, satisfactory references and right to work in the UK.
- 40 hours per week Monday to Friday - you will need to be flexible with hours as there may be some later hours required but earlier finishes on other days.
