**1.** **Safety Responsibilities**
- Actively support the company’s goal to ‘create a zero injury environment’.
- Discharge responsibilities as set out in responsibilities section of SBM’s Safety Policy.
In addition to the requirements of the policy particular focus should be paid to:
- Reporting of close calls
- Ensure that you are aware of the contents of all identified risk assessments
- Adhere to the instruction set out in Policies, Procedures SOPs and OPLs
- Ensure you have read, understood and signed off against any relevant Policies, Procedures SOPs and OPLs before you undertake any task
- Assist with the writing, development and review of risk assessments and SOPs
- Ensure you have read, understood, adhere to and have been signed off against and risk assessments and written standard operating procedures (SOPs) prior to conducting each shut down task
- Help develop an interdependent safety culture by ‘looking out’ for you work colleagues safety
- Lead by example
**3. Dry end operations**
- Operate the equipment in accordance with instructions
- Constantly strive to improve the safety within your work area
- Maximise the performance of the machine by conducting regular machine checks on all key equipment
- Constantly working to optimize output and minimize downtime
- Operate the slitter operation to minimize scrap levels
- Ensure all packed product is within specification
- Ensure packaging, labelling and overall presentation meets with the required standard
- Ensure finished product is correctly and safely stored in the warehouse, adhere to the safe stacking guidlines
**4.** **Assisting with shut downs and start-ups**
- Safety follow the instructions you are provided
- Show initiative and assist to minimise the loss (lost time) during a machine shut
- Inspect equipment and report any defects or opportunities
- Ensuring timelines are adhered to

**7.** **SPS involvement and continuous improvement**
- Proactive involvement in SPS process.
- Continuous improvements to working environment and the mill.
- Alignment of all improvement tasks to the SPS process.
- Lead the shift team in understanding the requirements of SPS.
- Assess and coach the understanding of your team in the understanding of the SPS goals, tools and principles.
- Assist others to schedule the time required for continuous improvement.
Coach and challenge where required to ensure progress is achieved in line with, or ahead of plan
Pay: From £32,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Night shift
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Halifax: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
