**Assistant Chemist - Power Station**

**£36,000 + bonus + benefits**

**Immingham, Lincolnshire**

**MC Technical Recruitment** are currently recruiting an Assistant Chemist / Analytical Chemist on a 12-month fixed term contract basis to join a large CCGT power station in the Immingham area.

**As the Assistant Chemist, you will be responsible for**:

- Performing sampling and testing on boiler, steam, cooling tower, water treatment plant and effluent samples
- Learning and understanding operation principles of both water treatment plant and steam boiler systems
- Assisting on steam generation chemistry by analysis
- Advise the operations team on necessary actions required to maintain safe operational compliance
- Compiling evidence of site water environmental compliance and producing supporting data for the environment agency reporting
- Provide basic lab training to operations team members

**To be considered for this role you should have**:

- A relevant qualification at NVQ/HNC level in a scientific discipline such as chemistry or environmental science or similar
- Experience of working in a laboratory environment in a similar heavy process sector e.g. power station, chemical plant, refinery, waste management, food production
- Testing, sampling and analysis experience of waters and effluents
- Experience using lab instruments e.g. PH meter and conductivity meter
- Experience of legionella control systems and legislation
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- IT literate - Word, Outlook, Excel etc

**Salary & benefits**

This Assistant Chemist role comes with the following:

- A basic salary up to circa £36,000 depending on experience
- A 1 month salary bonus at the end of the 12 months
- 25 days holiday + 8BH
- Company pension
