Software Tester

**Who are we?**

Born out of a 10-year research project with Lancaster University’s linguistic and cyber security departments, Relative Insight originally designed its technology to support the UK government identify paedophiles masquerading as children online - heavy but important work

Our technology is based on comparison - so if you take a group of 13-year olds talking online, you'll see that the language they use is very similar. If you compare that to how a 40-year-old adult man talks, you'll notice very specific but subtle differences.

**What does the role involve?**

As a member of the software engineering team you will be responsible for influencing and executing our software testing strategy. You will work with both the front-end and back-end teams to determine the most appropriate testing approach. Your primary focus will be on developing our end-to-end (E2E) testing solution to exercise our platform’s complete workflow whilst complementing this with other testing methods.

**Some of the responsibilities**:

- Contribute to the testing policy and strategy of the development teams
- Help the team interpret business goals and technical actions to deliver testing solutions
- Work with the development team and product owners to take user requirements and produce test scenarios
- Assist the teams with planning, writing, executing and automating test scripts
- Work with internal and external users to recreate end-user reported problems
- Quantify and communicate test results, pass rates, trends, and coverage, making recommendations to the team when needed
- Make sure that the test processes defined are adhered to

**Must haves**:

- Experience of creating e2e tests using Cypress (or similar)
- Knowledge of API testing using tools such as Postman/Insomnia
- Experience of creating manual and automated test scripts
- Previously worked in an agile development environment
- Experience of using the Atlassian suite of tools, or other Test
- Management tools, during the test execution
- ISTQB qualification

**Nice to have**:

- Experience of testing apps developed in Vue.js
- Knowledge of container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, etc)
- Experience mentoring and training less experienced team members
