**Term time only, five days per week, 8:30am-3:30pm**

**Do you have experience in schools assisting children with challenging behavior?**

Milk Education is recruiting Support Staff for both long-term & day-to-day work. We are looking for Support Staff with an interest in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs as well as challenging behavior. The role will involveproviding support to children in a Secondary Pupil Referral Unit aged from 11-16 years old.

**This role in a Pupil Referral Unit may require you to work with children on a one-to-one basis or a small group of children. You will need to have**:

- Have an inner drive to want to make a difference and have a positive attitude towards their learning for the better
- Be aware and understanding of their Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs

**Your main duties and responsibilities include**:

- Support and provide guidance to those with Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues
- Work alongside teachers & parents to create individual behavioral plans
- Acting as a role model and contribute to a safe yet fun learning environment
- Deal with challenging situations calmly, using de-escalation strategies implemented by yourself and the teacher
