**Material Planner /Analyst**

Reporting to: Procurement Director
Job type: Full time (8:30am to 5:00pm), Monday to Friday
(additional hours may also be required on both weekday and weekends)

**Job Purpose**:
My Client is an aerospace relating supplier of consumable products including chemicals such as paints, adhesives and oils. We currently sells approximately 2,000 products a year. These are identified as runners (536), repeaters (675) and strangers (657). Tomanage the preparation and compilation of the Client quarterly Sales forecast updates and implementation of the agreed forecast into the MRP system. To ensure that the required inventory are strategies are put in place for all products in terms of Runners,Repeaters and Strangers.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Determine the forecast requirements and selling trends for runners and repeaters - initially primarily based on historical sales trends. Understanding the forecast by orders, quantities, customer and family.
- Participate in the Quarterly reviews to approve the forecast for the next 12 months.
- Use the forecast to drive the MRP to determine the stock holding of the runners and repeaters. Balancing the stock levels and inventory investment with sales demand and scrap levels.
- Ensure that the MRP is supported with good data relating to vendors, pricing, lead time, min / max levels etc.
- Analyse the individual product performance and recommend actions where runners and repeaters are not achieving growth in line with company targets.
- Review product categorisation and recommend changes where appropriate - working with the sales team to advise on product type and pricing.
- To support the maintenance of accurate and timely update of the master data on the MRP system and to provide analysis, reports and implementation of improvements as required, ensuring the product forecast data and MRP attributes (part numbers, suppliers,lead-time, MOQ, Safety stock) is up to date.
- To maintain the integrity of master data on MRP, amending data as required as a result of product changes such as new products, obsolete products, replacement products etc.
- To extract and compile forecast data from last 12 months sales compared to last forecast and provide management data on differences for Sales and Operations planning review.
- To assist the Procurement Director in defining product inventory targets based on supplier lead times and EOQ/MOQ’s, together with consulting with Operations team on space warehouse requirements for those inventories.
- Working with product suppliers on key(stable) Runner and Repeater products ensure MRP order prompts are released as direct orders on suppliers.
- To act as a team member on improvements projects in Procurement team.

**Knowledge and Experience**:

- Degree level qualification or equivalent experience in a procurement, commercial planning or engineering discipline preferred.
- Experience of ERP/MRP systems planning environment required.
- Analytical skills to present data detailing trends and recommendations.
- IT skills, especially Excel required. SQL/Access experience would be an advantage.
