There are many different functions and professions delivering key outputs for the Army. As such using data to aid understanding of our workforce is vital.

The Infantry Training Centre (ITC) delivers Infantry basic training and initial trade training and is based in Catterick Garrison. The ITC consists of three units; 1st and 2nd Infantry Training Battalions and a Support Battalion all collocated along with Headquarters Soldier Academy (North). The 1st and 2nd Battalions undertake the Combat Infantry Course (CIC) for all recruits, who wish to join the Infantry whether regular or reserve. The ITC also commands Pegasus Company, the Army School of Ceremonial, and the Army School of Bagpipe Music and Highland Drumming (based in Edinburgh).

We deliver training which covers everything from developing a civilian arriving with no military experience into a trained, confident Infantry soldier, to teaching people to play the Bagpipes.

Whilst military training is undertaken by highly skilled and experienced members of the Army, we are supported by almost 200 Ministry of Defence (MOD) Civil Servants along with a number of Defence contractors. We are in roles from drivers to HR Clerks and storekeepers to tutors
