Abercorn Care Limited consists of two small family run care homes situated in Portobello, Edinburgh, we are looking for a skilled cook to prepare delicious meals according to menu.

You will cook dishes that delight our residents with their taste and timely delivery which, necessarily involves a wide range of tasks.
- Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
- Cook food in various utensils.
- Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
- Keep a sanitised and orderly environment in the kitchen including washing dishes etc.
- Receive deliveries and ensure all food and other items are rotated and stored properly
- Check quality of ingredients etc
- Provide a selection of home baking for afternoon tea - scones/cup cakes/ tray bakes etc.

Care home or, similar setting experience, would be an advantageous also,
- Proven experience as cook
- Experience in cookware and bake-ware
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
- Ability to work in a team
- Good communication skills
